Currencies

The budget has one home currency. Accounts and individual purchases can be in another.

Home currency

You choose it when you create the budget. Canadian dollars is the one selected to start. Reports and Ready to Assign use that currency.

Foreign accounts and card purchases

An account can be in another currency. ZxBudget converts it at public exchange rates so the rest of the budget can show one total. A purchase on a credit card can also be entered in the currency you paid, even when the card itself is in your home currency.

Move to a new currency

Settings includes Move to New Currency. It makes a new budget in the currency you pick and keeps the old budget as it was. Accounts keep the currency they already had. Assignments and foreign amounts are recalculated against the new home currency. If a rate the move needs is missing, the move stops.
